The Agilent 6890A Series Gas Chromatography system delivers high levels of performance, featuring electronic pneumatic control of all gas pressures and flows. CombiPAL Focus Autosampler for GC – Features, Specifications and Advantages

The CombiPAL Focus (often referred to as the “blue” version) is a specific configuration of the popular CTC Analytics CombiPAL autosampler, supplied by Shimadzu and other manufacturers for Gas Chromatography (GC)systems. This autosampler is widely used in analytical laboratories that require reliable automation and high sample throughput.

Key Features of the CombiPAL Focus

Multifunctional Autosampler
The system combines multiple injection techniques in a single instrument, including liquid injection, Headspace (HS)analysis, and in some configurations SPME (Solid Phase Microextraction). This versatility makes it suitable for a wide range of GC applications.
“Blue” Identification
The blue color found on certain housings or components is characteristic of specific revisions or OEM versions (for example those supplied by ATAS GL or customized Shimadzu configurations). These versions are designed to deliver high reliability in high-throughput laboratory environments.
Precision XYZ Robotics
The autosampler uses a highly accurate XYZ robotic arm that moves along three axes to pick up sample vials from trays and inject them precisely into the GC injector.
Syringe-Only Concept
Unlike traditional systems, the CombiPAL Focus uses a syringe-only design for headspace sampling. It does not rely on sample loops or transfer lines, which significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination (carry-over) between samples.
